Thunderhead Dragon by gummiberri Thunderhead Dragon by gummiberri
This is my latest work. Same old mix of Sculpey Firm and Super Sculpey. I tried a few new techniques I learnt from :iconemilysculpts:'s book in which she kindly shares some of the secrets of her beautiful work. I could have done a bit better on the wings but I am happy with the overall look, the colours were surprisingly tricky to paint considering they are so simple! They are my favourite colours at the moment too :)

EDIT: Took new photos with a lighter background which will hopefully make it easier to see :)

Woah. I'm beyond impressed. He's so lifelike, and very regal-looking. You put a LOT of work into the details, his horns look wonderfully textured, as does the fur. You even took the time to make each scale! All in all, he's a very handsome dragon!

Thanks a lot! I wish he wasn't so hard to photograph but I am so glad you can see the detail in him, it took forever!

I can imagine! The paint job ALONE looks like it would have taken forever, considering how smooth the gradient is. Adding that to all the minute detail and you have a project that I would NOT have the willpower to finish. X)
