Well this little guy has quite a story and I'm very proud of him, despite the number of flaws he has (mainly anatomical). He was a proper foo dog, based on the style of Tai Lung from Kung Fu Panda in my head when I started off but as it was the first time I was trying out sculpting an open mouth and a cat/dog thing, I kind of lost sight of that and he has ended up as... this... creature. It looks a lot like a tauren druid cat, which my boyfriend very helpfully pointed out to me

but I promise I never even looked at that model once. I guess it's the horns. So now it's a foo cat. Ye...

His mouth looks awkward from the side due to me sculpting the intial skull around a ball of foil, which isn't really the best base but I have learnt a lot! And for once it wasn't as difficult as I was expecting. It was very interesting starting off with the underlying structure of the head, it really did help me gain a greater understanding of the anatomy and why things look like they do.

I also tried out a new technique for the fur with the very helpful tutorial from

([link]) and also worked on my armature and basic clay blocking with another helpful tutorial from

([link])

Also, silicone shapers are the best things ever!

And, I'm so excited because I finally found a great guide on creating crocodile skin texture, even though it's for cake it will work very well on clay ([link]). Yay for more dragons!

Anyway, made from the usual Super Sculpey and painted with acrylics.
