Celestial Skypainter by gummiberri Celestial Skypainter by gummiberri
Celestial skypainter wyvern.

Made from Super Sculpey and painted with acrylics, decorated with rhinestones and beads.

This one took a very long time as I had him all painted and glossed then decided I didn't like it so I had to try and strip the paint off him. I even ended up sticking him in the dishwasher! Worked a treat lol.

Awesome!
The idea is executed perfectly!
I myself work with the plastic, but I can not tear their dragons from the ground =) You have given me inspiration = D
(do not worry - your idea will not be stolen!)

This is beautiful - I love the detail on the face and the eyes on the download image.

LOL at the dishwasher - I have an image of him hiccoughing soap bubbles !

Also love the stand you've got him on - is this your design too ?

Thank you so much! :D Lol, never thought of that. I guess space dragons can swim afterall! Lucky for me :P

The stand is my design, it's an aluminium rod with some florist wire wrapped around it and painted black, with some nice sparkly beads to represent stars. I find I really like the challenge of finding an appropriate stand for my sculptures almost as much as making the sculptures themselves!

Very nicely done! Did you use a picture from a book to see what it looked like or did you just sit down and do it from your head? It worked out awesome either way!

Thank you :) Well I came up with the idea as I was trying to fall asleep, that's when all my ideas tend to come to me and then keep me awake for hours planning them out in my head :( I used a few references for the chest muscles I guess, don't know they actually are and then some photos of galaxies and stars to try get the colours right in my head. It was really tricky translating into a 3D object but the perseverance paid off!
